Did Crisis of Conscience damage you?
by Mulan init has been suggested, by a man we know, that those who read crisis of conscience, are left with a feeling of despair and are "cast adrift" after reading it.
it is his opinion that the book shouldn't have been written, because it does harm to people.
i do not agree, and would like to hear from anyone who has an opinion to share, so i can print all this out and show it to him.. comments, everyone, please????

by The Dredger infrom time to time someone will make a truly interesting post that somehow slips the net and and drifts off into obscurity.. most posters are usually too modest to 'bump' their own posts more than once which can mean that perfectly good questions go unanswered or unobserved.
or, a post may become a real 'hit' but after its natural life has been spent it will of course fade away.
but what of the many new members who never got the chance to see it the first time around?.

Serious Question
by Prisca inas we all know the society has very strict guidelines regarding conduct between the sexes.
in the cong i grew up in, it was so small-minded that if you were single, and seen talking to a member of the opposite sex, you were presumed to be in some sort of relationship with him/her.. sex before marriage is out of the question, with heavy petting also looked down upon.
dating is a serious affair, with all onlookers expecting engagement/marriage to be the outcome.

New Truths
by larc ini am a newcomer and have thoroughly enjoyed the last couple weeks communicating with all of you.. i have generally kept abreast of the new truths, but am not clear on some details.
for example, as of about 1986, college is now ok, but i think it is supposed to be limited to degrees and subjects that are directly job related.
what are the written and unwritten rules on this subject?.

To wait or not to wait?
by Frenchy inokay, this need not necessarily be controversial but i would like some honest opinions on the matter.
from time to time (in last sundays wt lesson for example) i read in the magazines or hear brothers say this in their talks.
(with some variation) arent we grateful that jehovah has waited this long before loosing armageddon on mankind?
